The honest limits. Discord will not let a bot recreate a message as its true original author, so the optional message archive is re-posted through a temporary webhook that mimics each author name and avatar - a clearly labelled archive, not a 1:1 restore.
Restore only fills in what is missing. A role or channel that is still standing is left exactly as it is, so permissions stripped from a survivor are not put back and the original channel order is not restored. Overwrites pointing at a role managed by another bot, the booster role or a member who has left are not carried over, and if you include server settings the saved name, icon and moderation levels are applied over the current ones.
