What happens per filter
Tuned to your server, not a preset nobody wants
Spam flood - your numbers
A hype server tolerates 8 messages in 5 seconds. A support server does not. You pick the flood threshold per user, and AutoMod counts the rest.
Bad words - your list
Add the words that do not belong in your community. Match substrings or flip on whole-word matching so "class" never trips on the letters inside it.
CAPS and emoji walls
A message that is 70% uppercase or a wall of emoji is not conversation, it is noise. Set the percentage and the emoji ceiling and let it filter itself.
Mass mentions - the raid signal
Capping mentions per message stops the @everyone spam and the ping storms raiders use to bury your channel. Set the max, sleep easy.
Exempt who you trust. Every filter takes its own list of ignored channels and roles, and there is a global ignore list on top. Your staff channels stay untouched, your @Moderators never get filtered, and the owner is always exempt by default.
